Founded in 1951 by the authoritarian visionary Mr. Fun Times, Party Island is a retail mega store and party bazaar designed as a secluded paradise. Although critics argued for a standard store, the founder pushed forward with an ambitious construction featuring a water-filled moat. The site functions as a sovereign-like entity that operates under its own strict, conservative regulations independent of Town laws. It serves as a significant community investment and includes both a retail outlet sharing the name of the island and the Hotel Party Island.
Travel and Logistics
Reaching the island requires a specialized boat service. The 40-minute ferry ride from the mainland serves as a replication of the trip required to reach the original Funky Village store. The ferry typically runs once every 14 hours, making the 40 minute ride much more reasonable as long as you don't think about it.
Governance and Features
The island maintains a unique atmosphere where the laws of the town do not apply. It features a Party Fire Department that uses tiki torches and confetti extinguishers to manage fire safety. Most notably, the territory is defended by a professional standing army, which is odd for a department store.
