Many residents believe he weasled into his position by taking advantage of a tragedy: the landslide that buried Blanche Philadelphia, the winner who failed to show up for her term. As the runner-up to Blanche, McDaddy is now the primary scapegoat for the disaster.

The "most important guy in town" finally made his appearance at Shegrinnies, though the timing couldn't have been more chaotic. Mayor McDaddy arrived just as the restaurant's soft opening descended into a comedy of errors, featuring a kitchen overrun with rats, a table on fire, and a complete lack of actual food. Despite the surrounding carnage, the Mayor was treated to the establishment's "signature cocktail." In a move that perfectly encapsulated the evening's failures, Emmett Hall served him a mug of boiling water with a few ice cubes plopped in on top.
