From Thrash Metal to Game Scores
Emmett Hall wears many hats within the local creative community. As the front man for the heavy metal thrash band Necronado, he is currently navigating a period of transition after their guitarist moved to Powell River. When he isn't performing on stage, Hall is deeply involved in the world of indie gaming. He works for Klei Entertainment, the company behind popular titles like Don't Starve and Oxygen Not Included, and notably composed the entire musical score for the game Rottwood.
A Decade of Neighborhood Evolution
Hall’s perspective on the local landscape is shaped by years of observation. Having worked in the Yale-town area for about a decade, he has watched the neighborhood transform from a rough, industrial zone into a 'young, hip, and cool' destination. He notes a distinct shift in the local vibe depending on the hour: by day, the streets are populated by 'gangly fellows and hoodies' working in various video game and animation studios, while at night, the scene shifts as Bugattis come out to do loops around the block.
