The Board Game Store w/ Kai Rudell

Improviser Kai Rudell joins Mark and Ryan to talk about growing up in Vancouver playing rugby, ultimate frisbee, and “the crazy hat lady”. He opens up “Deliverance Game Store” - a board game shop that is really into the 1978 movie Deliverance. We meet a “solar punk” named Benoit LeCalre, a pair of murderous twins named Lindsey and Landsy. And we finally get another school - Sir Emmanuel Frizz.

Stand-up comedian Aaron Read is back on the show and talks about fancy bakeries, chaotic McDonald’s, and bagged milk. Ryan also shares that he used to be a Shakespearean busker. Aaron builds a steak house for our town that is also a country line dancing bar called Steak and Legs Coochie Coo. We find out fast casual restaurant, Taco Hat isn’t as popular as it used to be and our town finally gets a dollar store.

Director and comedian Christine Bortolin is back on the show but this time in video! She tells us more tales of growing up in Burnaby and deep Coquitlam. She builds the town’s first parking lot and an amusement park that sets up shop there. We learn all about their main attraction “The Suck Ditch”. She also builds a Historical Village for our town, a restaurant that is strictly for extra marital affairs, and Ryan reads us a poem entitled “When The Mall Was Small”.

Comedian and creator Mark Little (Gary & His Demons, Picnicface) joins Mark and Ryan to talk about growing up in New Westminster, BC. Playing Mortal Kombat, meeting 80’s NHL-er Gino Odjick, and his pet rats. Mark Little builds a burger joint for the town called 20 Guys Burger and Fries, he starts a book club, and introduces a mysterious white van that abducts citizens. He also creates two more newspapers for the town: The Daily Tenor and Boobs .
