The Town is a collaborative community built incrementally by the hosts of The Town Show, special guests, and the audience. It features an interconnected world of landmarks, events, stories, businesses, and local celebrities. Every contribution from a guest becomes a ‘penciled in’ part of the town’s history.
Following “Riverdale rules,” the Town’s geography includes a diverse array of biomes such as beaches, mountains, and deserts. It is distinct from climates like California, experiencing four distinct seasons (spring, summer, fall, and winter) characterized by regular rain and heavy snow. The community also recognizes specific holiday seasons and local events.
Demographics and Governance
The Town has a total population of approximately 10,000 residents, with a specific voting population of 5,500. Electoral activity reflects a realistic voter turnout estimated between 70% and 80%. Mayor McDaddy was inaugurated after the rightful Mayor, Blanch Philadelphia, was buried by a landslide.
Landmarks and Culture
The community features several notable landmarks including a slippery gravel path known as Gravel Pass, or at least it did before the landslide. Additionally, the 'singing barco' has been recognized as the town’s official bird and is known to ’emit’ every 30 days.
The Town residents commonly recite the town motto, "Never shall we know where the legs do meet," which is a reference to the bronze legs in the town fountain.
